The time has come to put a stop to all of this search engine filth. Ladies and gentlemen, your search engine needs you!!

A fair bit of coverage has been given to search engine spammers here on our humble insurance blog. We’ve seen the rise and subsequent fall of 17to40.co.uk, aided by a few well researched spam reports being submitted to the Big G. In fairness to the Big G, he listened and acted appropriately.

Following on from this, we’ve seen a number of other domains mentioned by you guys in the comments box on our posts. some pop up more frequently than others and many of these domains shouldn’t be achieving the ranking they are currently getting on Google. All of this is despite the basic fact that the techniques they have used to achieve their current rank are not consistent with Google’s very public guidelines. Now’s the time for you to do something about it.

We know that Google is attempting to find, sort and order an astonishing number of pages out there on the web. We also know that the quality (or perceived quality) of any search engine’s results are what will make it successful or not. So we’re going to give Google a helping hand!

We want you guys to submit domains to us (with strong research to back it up) to show us who is benefiting from grey or black hat techniques. We will then create a post which summarises all of this research and highlights the worst offenders who are profiting from the use of underhand tactics. Once this post is live, we will submit any appropriate reports to Google’s Spam Report tool and see what action they decide to take.
