Moneysupermarket have released a savings advert to compete head to head with the viral nature of the giocompario gocompare advert.
They are asking customers to post unique content to their new youtube channel: let’s have the savings.
Moneysupermarket will be advertising this new campaign in the usual manner but have started via their website and twitter.
Moneysupermarket purchased the domain letshavethesavings.com on the 7th May so this should be a fairly big campaign based on the time they have spent planning.
Let’s start seeing how the numbers stack up for gocompare and moneysupermarket over the coming months…

Oh jeez. I just wasted 2 minutes of my life watching those.
They are truly wretched. They’ve even encoded them wrong. Idiots.
At least Gio Compario was mildly amusing.
What an embarrasing situation!
Not even funny. I’m sure Peter Jones could have used the catchphrase in a more exciting way for them. “I don’t like your product, I don’t like you that’s why I’m not investing. Oh and by the way LET’S HAVE THE SAVINGS!!!”
Have they actually launched a campaign to promote this?
Looks like they originally started asking for submissions on 03/08, so maybe we are just waiting on a big push, or perhaps just a bit of fun?
fool.co.uk did something similar to this a while back – still some submissions if you search youtube for “what would your money say about you”, but not all published together. Which probably would have made more sense.
@Tron looks like they have launched now – they look to have built a whole site around the campaign using the letshavethesavings.com domain.
I have just had a curious letter from Direct Line by recorded delivery Asking my executors for my death certificate and putting a block on my home insurance policy. In the same post was a letter from them informing me that my home insurance was due for renewal. Very strange. Having spent an hour trying to reach the number giwen I gave up and phone the insurance premium renewal number. I got through in minutes. After stating that reports of my death were greately exaggerated I was told that it was a computor error and nothing else was known about the mistake, I will not be renewing my policy with them or any other policy. i am glad not to be of a nervous disposition or suffering from a terminal illness or I might have upset by this. Has anyone else had a similar letter?
Linda – that’s crazy. I’ve never had one like that, but I would frame it if I did
