@Jack, being anonymous is what allows us to be impartial. We don't represent our employers. And we want to be able to talk freely with our own opinions, without a corporate steer or fear of retribution. So being anonymous ensures we're impartial.

We do however 'out' people and companies with common sense and some don't like that. They usually use our anonymity against us. But as you say, they're just opinions ...to which you have free reign to return with yours.

As for Defaqto, i'd question how Tesco Compare could have been voted the top car insurance comparison site when they had an absolutely tiny panel and static data which frequently mis-matched that on offer for the price returned (defaqto's static data). Then for Lloyds Compare/insurance.co.uk to be voted the top comparison site when the dubious validity of their policy data and mapping of personal details from their site to the insurers was highly questionable.

I've sat around a table with your colleagues who decide the Defaqto rules and the Defaqto judgements. They're not stupid men but I personally believe that their 'personal' opinion about what the 'customer' wants is off the mark - to couple the fact that the surveys have so far missed the crutial points made above.

So thanks for a little inspiration for another post Jack ;o) It must be survey time coming up soon so we'll have something ready.

How can your anonimity ensure your opinion is impartial? For example if you were to work for money facts then that may explain your feelings towards defaqto. This is the general problem with the blogosphere, its all opinion, atleast by laying your cards on the table people would be able to decide how to value your opinion on certain topics.

I do work for defaqto

@Bob, are Lloyds a client of yours? Are you dealing with the staff fall out from Lloyds TSB Compare and insurance.co.uk perhaps?

<a href="http://www.insiders-view.co.uk/legal-general-to-launch-a-bid-for-clicklife/00521" rel="nofollow">It seems to be the season for rumours!</a>
