LloydsTSB Insurance Comparison Launches

Lloyds have launched their very own insurance comparison site at insurance.co.uk - that’s another aggregator with a major backer who is an insurance provider. Do you really think this is true:

 insurance.co.uk is owned by Lloyds TSB Insurance Services Ltd. Although the site remains completely impartial and treats all the different insurers equally.

Hmmm.. On the face of it, it actually looks rather good.

    That’s a fairly quick scan I’m guessing George. Dig down a little further and you’ll find very little content, poor on-page SEO efforts, AJAX controls which appear to be right but frequently break, a log-in screen which doesn’t accept username and password consistently, a panel of insurers which leaves a lot to be desired …oh, and the motorbike element is outsourced to bikingneeds.com which means that any value in the log-in account area is under-done as it cannot combine all (two) products.

    But as you say, a significant backer. Worth watching what they do with it from there.

    I’ve had a look - its OK, but I can’t see much of an improvment on what’s out there already. I like the game although I failed my driving test!
