Following a “gossip” comment on our previous Insurancewide post suggesting that Insurancewide have sold their assets to ClickLife, the story seems to have gathered pace. Quite a few emails have come into the Insiders View inbox to confirm this purchase has gone threw – despite a couple of hiccups and slight delays in the process.
The commonly held belief is that ClickLife (the successful life insurance broker) have purchased the Insurancewide domain, their database of customer details and the technology platform which was built in-house to power their various white label integrations. No sign has surfaced to suggest whether ClickLife will continue to use the Insurancewide brand or simply adopt the assets wholly into the ClickLife family.
The value in this for ClickLife will obviously depend on the price they’ve deemed worthy of the job lot they’ve taken on. It’ll take them some time to get to grips with the technology and the customer database has been hit with a series of non-insurance campaigns in the lead up to Insurancewide’s demise. But given time, the technology and the top quality domain should provide some healthy returns to Click.
Meanwhile, the value to “The Utley Crew” is clearly in recovering as much cash as possible to help pay off Insurancewide’s long list of creditors; who’ll all be hoping that this sale increases the percentage of Insurancewide’s debt which is returned back into their pockets.

I am pleased to confirm that this is correct and therefore yet another 100% true rumour to add to the impressive list.
Insurancewide was a pioneering website in many ways and one that deserved to fare far better than it did. The comparison and lead generation market has built very quickly and it is a shame that the honesty and integrity of the IW team was not more of a success factor in this growing area.
Click are looking to utilise the aquired assets to camp firmly in the aggregator space and to produce a much more rounded and substantial product for consumers.
